The story of Hawke & Co. begins in 1958 under the Brooklyn Bridge, where Michael Rosenberg’s grandfather and great-uncle founded Rosbro, a small outerwear company. By the 1970s, Michael’s father, David, expanded the business globally, solidifying its reputation in the industry.

In 1991, Michael Rosenberg joined the family business, now known as Daron Fashions, and infused it with innovative ideas. He modernized production with cutting-edge technology and launched a boys' division, introducing game-changing products like the first PolarFleece™ and cotton ramie jackets for boys. His forward-thinking approach earned him accolades, including an award from Earnshaw's Magazine for “The Best in Boy’s Outerwear.”

Michael continued to push boundaries in the late 1990s by introducing advanced materials and securing licenses with renowned brands like Weatherproof and Nickelodeon. Recognized as one of the “30 under 30 Movers and Shakers in Menswear,” Michael’s vision propelled Daron Fashions into the men’s outerwear market with remarkable success.

In 2007, Michael founded Zee Co. Apparel, the parent company of Hawke & Co., to focus on creating innovative outerwear. Hawke & Co. launched its direct-to-consumer e-commerce site in 2008 and gained high-profile exposure during New York Fashion Week.

The breakthrough moment came in 2013 with the creation of the “Packable” jacket, a lightweight puffer that folds into its pocket. Selling 12 million units, this jacket became synonymous with the Hawke & Co. brand. Michael also introduced an iPod jacket and collaborated with major companies like United Airlines and Jet Blue to design uniform outerwear.

In 2014, Hawke & Co. expanded into men’s sportswear and launched the battery-operated “heated” jacket. The company was named the “Fastest Growing Men’s Outerwear Company” by National Purchase Diary in 2015. Despite challenges, including the Covid pandemic and legal disputes, Michael’s resilience and dedication led to him becoming the sole owner of Hawke & Co. in 2023.

Today, Hawke & Co. is at the forefront of outerwear innovation, designing uniforms for the Israeli Winter Olympic team and continuing to set new standards in the industry. Michael Rosenberg’s journey is a testament to the power of vision, innovation, and relentless pursuit of excellence.
